With more than 40 years experience in the recruiting industry, Kathy Dawson leads Dawson & Dawson as Founder and CEO, overseeing Executive & Retained Search, Temporary & Contract Staffing, and Business Development. A Certified Staffing Professional (CSP), she is recognized nationally for her relationship-driven approach and genuine care for clients and candidates alike.
Before founding the firm in 2008, Kathy served as Regional Vice President for a national search and staffing firm, managing 120 employees and $120M in revenue. Her leadership philosophy is simple, treat every client as if their business were her own. Deeply committed to giving back, she supports nonprofits that serve veterans, women, and families, and her “pay-it-forward” mindset is woven into Dawson & Dawson’s culture.
In 2025, Kathy fulfilled a lifelong dream of writing a book designed to help people find meaningful work. She is the Co-Author of The NEW New World of Work: An Ultimate Guide to Landing the Right Job – Stand Out, Get Hired, and Build a Dream Career!, a resource that empowers professionals to navigate modern job searches with confidence and purpose.
Under her direction, the firm became a certified Women-Owned Business (WBENC) in 2013. Kathy has completed executive programs through Tuck School of Business, UCLA, and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, and continues to champion meaningful connections that make a difference.
